Job Summary:
As a Payment Posting Specialist at Ventra Health, you play a pivotal role in managing monetary transactions for our clients. You will be responsible for overseeing payment intake across 13 to 14 facilities/clients, ensuring adherence to our 6-day turnaround time. Your primary objective includes posting all deposits for the current month by our month-end deadline. Operating within applicable billing standards, you’ll collaborate within a team-oriented environment dedicated to delivering exceptional service to Ventra Health clients nationwide.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Post Accounts Payable deposits accurately and efficiently.
- Process electronic 835’s and manual payer EOBs, encompassing insurance allowable, patient portions, denials, adjustments, contractual allowances, recoups, and forward balancing.
- Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) remittance codes and apply correct denial codes.
- Maintain timely closure of payment batches while ensuring proper balancing.
- Navigate various websites to retrieve EOBs as needed.
- Undertake special projects and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in posting insurance payments within a healthcare setting.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in reading insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in understanding insurance payer types.
- Sound comprehension of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements.
- Strong aptitude in balancing and reconciliation.
- Excellent 10 Key calculator skills.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Exceptional mathematical prowess.
- Solid time management and organizational skills.
- Capability to interpret and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Flexibility to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, interacting tactfully with diverse personalities.
Compensation:
- Base Compensation Range: $16.00 – $19.00 Hourly.
Note: Base Compensation is subject to variation based on factors such as geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary performance bonuses in line with company policies.
