Description
The Commercial Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for ensuring timely reimbursement by preparing and submitting claims for accounts and processing refunds when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claim Preparation and Submission: Prepare, edit, and submit account billing in accordance with payer guidelines. Resolve claim issues and ensure accurate and timely submissions as per insurance guidelines.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patients’ insurance eligibility to ensure proper coverage.
- System Updates: Submit system payer/fee schedule changes to the supervisor when required.
- Documentation Management: Submit all required documentation with claims, update patient demographic changes, and perform required rebilling. Request missing documentation from clients, physicians, or patients as appropriate.
- Client File Access: Access client files to verify information when necessary.
- Inquiry Response: Respond to verbal and written insurance or responsible party inquiries regarding account status within policy and procedure timelines. Research accounts and document follow-up actions appropriately.
- Account Discrepancies: Resolve account discrepancies, prepare adjustments, and process refunds for approval as necessary.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and complete records of billing activities on all accounts and document in the system records.
- Problem Resolution: Address issues as they occur and keep the supervisor informed of any area or compliance issues that may lead to untimely or inaccurate invoice or claim submissions.
- Reporting: Complete all reports according to the schedule.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.
- Independence: Ability to work independently is crucial.
Remote Work Information: Due to COVID-19, this position will work remotely from home. However, it may return to the business office. A high-speed internet connection and the ability to pass a speed test are required for remote work.
Pay Rate: $16-19 per hour
