At Savista, we’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Medical Insurance Accounts Receivable Representative. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the timely collection of outstanding government or commercial healthcare insurance receivables. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
Verify patient eligibility and/or authorization for healthcare services through various channels. Update patient demographics and insurance information accurately. Research and status unpaid or denied claims efficiently. Monitor claims for missing information and authorization numbers. Contact payers to secure payment of claims via phone or written correspondence. Access client systems for essential data to resolve claims. Follow guidelines for prioritization, timely filing deadlines, and notation protocols. Obtain medical documentation as required by third-party insurance carriers. Prepare appeal letters for technical appeals and verify underpayments. Support the Savista Compliance Program by adhering to relevant policies and procedures. Requirements:
High school diploma or GED. At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up. Experience identifying billing errors, resubmitting claims, and following up on payment errors. Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and medical business office procedures. At least two years of experience with accounts receivable software. Experience navigating payer sites for appeals, benefits verification, and claims follow-up. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and internet navigation. Ability to communicate effectively with payers and accurately document encounters. Preferred Skills:
Experience with Epic, Meditech, Cerner, or similar platforms. Experience working with hospital systems with more than 250 beds. Note: Salary range for this role is from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, varying based on factors such as geographic location and candidate experience.
