Job Description:
As our editor, you’ll play a pivotal role in our content creation process, from assigning and editing articles to collaborating with various teams to ensure top-notch content that resonates with our audience. We’re seeking someone with strong editing skills, project management abilities, and a keen eye for content strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, pitch, assign, and edit articles related to SMB loans that drive search rankings
- Oversee one or two direct reports, providing guidance and ensuring cohesive content creation aligned with business objectives
- Update existing content for relevance and accuracy, working closely with SEO analysts to execute content strategy for a new vertical
- Stay updated on industry trends to identify content opportunities and maintain brand voice and tone
- Manage content uploads and maintenance in our content management system (WordPress)
- Build industry connections within the small-business space
Requirements:
- 2+ years of writing/editing experience
- Experience managing writers or editors to uphold editorial standards
- Knowledge or experience in personal finance and small business
- Excellent research, writing, and editorial skills
- Strong project management and communication abilities
- Proficiency in meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple projects independently
- Familiarity with SEO concepts and best practices
- Understanding of AP Style
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Compensation:
- Cash compensation range: $70,000 – $85,000*
- NYC cash compensation range: $70,000 – $102,000 (*Actual salary depends on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.)
